YOUR SOUL CREATES AN ELEGANT OUTCOME EVERYTIME, IF YOU WILL LISTEN

What would it be like to have the most efficient all-knowing reminder service prompting you on the right thing to do 24/7 – 365 days a year! It would take a load off your mind, and reduce your to do list dramatically, not so? Living lightly this way is what’s on offer from your Soul. And what hurts us most is ignoring it!

Cat shares real life experiences of how her Soul prompted her
I recently remembered this fabulous truth when I arrived, by impulse, at the voters registration offices with only hours left to get on the roll. Up until that morning I was totally ignorant of the cut off time, but acting on my Soul promptings as I had breakfast, I landed up registered in the right time, right place. Elegant! Easy! No cell phone reminder, diary or drama!

It happens all the time. Another time I had just returned from the UK not knowing that my driver’s licence was about to expire. Busily involved in starting up my South African life again, it never even occurred to me to check it. But my Soul knew about it, and so when my daughter mentioned drivers licence renewals one morning, my soul spoke loud and clear – by that I mean something ran through me as I heard those words – and I decided there and then that I would go to the licence office that day! On arriving I discovered that it was to expire the very next day! Woohoo! What joy! How amazing and how easy to avoid frustration, time and money, and feel fabulously supported and aligned at the same time! And this marvellous reminder service of the Soul is there for everyone.

What stands in your way?
But what stands in the way of this natural process is your mind-mind and its overbearing thinking process. Instead of planning and scheming all the time, what is needed is self awareness; in particular an awareness of what is moving through you in the moment.

How does your Soul speak to you?
The Soul speaks to you via a gentle but clear urge to do something. It is a seemingly physical experience, but mystically transcends the body at the same time. It calls you to act, but too many people are de-sensitized to this feelings – and don’t taken action on the impulse.

If you feel its absence in your life, it is not that it isn’t there, but that you are not allowing it. It is important to know that it happens in real time and needs to be responded to the same way. There is no forward planning. It runs through you just-in-time (dam! we all want forward notice…) And when it comes through you, like a sneeze, it takes over for a split second. Unlike a sneeze it can be ignored! My prayer is that you don’t ignore it one moment more!

So what hurts most in life – ignoring impulses of your Soul. It hurts not to say YES to your Soul. Your Soul is the most efficient reminder service in the world! It is a field of intelligence that knows your perfect life plan and guides you step by tiny step. To say yes requires courage but brings joy, like riding a river. To say no is living your programming. Your mind-mind will always find reasons why not.

But as Deepak Chopra says ‘The possibility of stepping into a higher plane is quite real for everyone. It requires no force or effort or sacrifice. It involves little more than changing our ideas about what is normal.’

How to deal with ANYTHING that comes your way

When my two girls were old enough I drove them down to spend a week with my Mom at the coast.  When we arrived, the children immediately wanted to go to the beach.  I was tired and preoccupied with business matters, but I agreed and off we went.

When we arrived I noticed that the beach had been dramatically changed by a spring tide and now sloped steeply down toward the sea.  My mind was so full of other things it didn’t occur to me that the only wave breaking on this now steep slope was rather dangerous. The truth is that my body was at the beach, but my mind was elsewhere. I was not present! This was soon to change…

As I went into the water, I was thrown down into the churning sand, spluttering and gasping for air – I was completely powerless. I had one thought only – keeping alive, surviving the huge wave descending on me. As the water subsided and gave me a chance to rise to my feet I experienced the most unexpected exhilaration and joy. The wave had become my NOW. My children, stunned by the sight of their Mom disappearing under a wall of water were relieved to see me stand up. They were surprised as I let out a shout (of joy) and charged up the beach toward them! I was changed. I was there! I had experienced a total experience of the NOW, and it was amazing.

It was a brilliant gift, for I had experienced that moment with all my being.  Every sense, every muscle, every thought had focused on that moment. In doing that I experienced a remarkable sense of aliveness. And so my one-minute swim became a lifetime’s lesson.  Jerry Jampolsky says this about being in the NOW:
‘It is very easy to lapse into the past or build up anxiety about the future.  When we do this, we are often not peaceful.  When we recognize this, we can focus our attention back to the present where it is possible to experience peace. If we stay in the present, we are best able to deal with anything that comes our way.  If we are someplace else, it is not possible to make decisions.  In essence, NOW is the only time there is.  It is in the NOW that the love energy comes through us.  It is in the NOW that we are not judgmental and we can see clearly what is going on….We cannot control the external world.  We will never be peaceful if we try to do so.’
We really start LIVING when we get into the present, the now, fear and all! (Notice the word fear here.) Fear of experiencing fear causes us to suppress fear in our daily life. That action not only steals energy and shuts us down, but separates us from ourselves.
‘When negative feelings are suppressed positive feelings become suppressed as well, and love dies.’                John Gray
The present moment is like a river of feelings and experiences, moving, changing and passing. If we can be brave enough to feel all this flow, we come alive. The present moment and flow are actually one and the same thing. Right action comes from the flow of life.

You are being led to your perfect life through the subtle feelings and urges, sometimes called ‘good’  sometimes ‘bad’, flowing into your body-mind all the time. These feelings and impulses show you, or invite you, or urge you to do something.  It is that ‘something’ that is the right action, and it can only be experienced when you are in the now.

Your perfect life, the perfect decisions, the perfect experience is emerging moment by moment.

All you need to know is contained in this moment. To deal with ANYTHING, become fully present, and then choose.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS – I LOVE MY LIFE!

Can’t tell you just how much I love my life, just how much I love LIFE! I love my house and everything about it – the river that flows past the estate, the community without walls, the trees changing into winter bareness, autumn wafting  in through my window, white eyes –  tiny birds – that drink from bright red bottle brush flowers outside my kitchen window.
I love my office. I makes me feel so blessed when I drive into the campus,  greet those who share the space, and let workshop participants, between exercises, drink-in the bush . I love my work. I love the road which winds along the river and up tree lined streets between home and office. I celebrate the amazingness that I, me, myself have been able to create a work-life which feeds and nourishes me – and connects me to God. I feel amazed that in my work God is centre-stage, that its not only expected to be that way, but that my references to The Divine Life Force are welcomed and allowed.
I write and am consumed with the therapy and marvel of words on paper. I am even more thrilled when people like reading them! I give talks and workshops and am awed at the stuff I am teaching, that I got it, that I can teach it with the full flow of my personality and essence.   I think of my children, my niece, my sisters, my friends and am swept away on a river of gratitude that these beautiful beings are in my life .
May your experience of your life be so.

PRAYER (FOR THOSE WHO BATTLE TO TRUST LIFE)

This saying became my mantra for a year. I copied it out, decorated it with a drawing and put it on my wall. (I also insisted it went into the communal kitchen for everyone else to see!)  Every time I read it, something deep inside me shifted.

TRUST

Don’t waste your life for that which is going to be taken away. Trust Life.

If you trust only then can you drop your knowledge

only then can you put your mind aside.

And with trust something immense opens up.

Then this life becomes full of God, overflowing.

When the heart is innocent and the walls have disappeared you are bridged with infinity.

And you are not deceived; there is nothing that can be taken away from you.

That which can be taken away is not worth keep and that which cannot be taken away form you, why should one be afraid of it being taken away?

It cannot be taken away, there is no possibility. You cannot lose your real treasure.

3 Levels of Love, Our True Essence

I read this piece by Osho last night and loved it. For me attaining the high road of love is achieved by fully embracing all levels.

‘The lowest level of love is sex – it is physical  – and the highest refinement of love is compassion. Sex is below love, compassion above love; love is exactly in the middle.

Very few people know what love is. 99% of people unfortunately think sexuality is love – it is not. Sexuality is very animal; it certainly has the potential of growing into love, but it is not actually love, only a potential. If you become aware and alert, meditative, then sex can be transformed into love. And if your meditativeness becomes total and absolute, love can be transformed into compassion. Sex is the seed, love is the flower and compassion is the fragrance.

Buddha has defined compassion as ‘love plus meditation’. When your love is not just a desire for the other, when you love is not only a need, when you love is  a sharing when your love is not that of a beggar but an emperor, when your love is not asking for something in return but is ready only to give – to give for the sheer joy of giving – then add meditation to it and the pure fragrance is released. That is compassion; compassion is the highest phenomenon.’

By Anne Dickson from her book, A woman in your own right.
I discovered these in the 80’s in a book about standing up for your rights as a woman. They revolutionised my behaviour and approach to life, and I taught them to my children as well. Please don’t just read them and nod your head. Print them out and read them to yourself every day until you know them off by heart. Then they will take root, then they will inform and cue more empowered behaviour.
Enjoy!

The Spiritual Benefits of Living in Community

Western living is increasingly isolated. Economic empowerment creates self sufficiency which is wonderful, but it also enables the family unit to operate independent of the extended family and deep social contact. Many people are so self contained and busy they don’t even say hello to their neighbours let alone know their names or what goes on behind their doors.

When I lived in Findhorn, a spiritual community and education centre in Scotland, http://www.findhorn.org I discovered the true power and benefits of community – it feeds the Soul! Engaging each person in a journey of personal growth, it asks you to go to new places in yourself in order to get on with everyone (challenging), discover how to be authentic when you don’t like certain people (eeek), decide whether to talk through conflicts (which are many, spiritual community or not) or ignore them – and more!

Before I lived in community (and yes for a good while during my stay) I avoided conflict and tricky encounters with all my being. If I couldn’t contain myself and had a tiff or run in I would shrink into my inner shell and hide emotionally. But by the end of my 3 years at Findhorn I had learned to manage myself into doing the opposite, and boy was it healing! Learning to talk through conflict and unhappiness with community members invited me to meet more parts of myself. But I was only able to do this because of the love and support of the community who offered me tools and encourage me as I took each tentative step. That’s the beauty of having deep community relationships.
If you wish to create a robust aligned connection with your Soul it’s essential that you engage meaningfully in community ie. get involved! The rich landscape of feelings that other people bring up are wonderful mirrors that when looked into offer you much more than company.  Deep dialogues and sharing create a sense of togetherness that speaks of the true oneness of all life.  Conflicts and troubles are in essence a call to greater intimacy -when embraced they bring intimacy with yourself. So look at your life today and make the steps to strip away isolating barriers. Step forward to meet more of yourself, stand in your centre and live aligned to Soul – in community!

MANIFESTING MONEY Lesson 9: Practical tips

Money does grow on trees!
All too often we spend our time thinking about money. That creates problems. Your relationship with money goes beyond thought patterns and beliefs, it’s a cellular affair too. Including simple daily activities is incredibly helpful to shifting stuck and unhelpful cellular memories and feelings about money for the better.
EXERCISE 1
For those of you participating in the on-line manifesting course, do an audit on what new practices you have learned during the course – and how you are, or are not, implementing them. An essential part of the course is to assess how you are doing relative to your goals. This will help pinpoint areas that still need more energy from you, but equally importantly give you a chance to appreciate your progress.  Such appreciation is the fuel of motivation and enthusiasm.

So, for instance, list all the tools you have learned from my lessons and how you are applying them (or not), what personal insights you’ve had about your relationship to money and what you’ve done with that information (or not), how well you are interacting and sharing with others on the course, using the blog as the communication platform (or not), rate your degree of commitment to the goal from 1 to 10 – and so on.  So please go through this exercise and post up your findings here.

EXERCISE 2

Start an abundance box or jar. This is a wonderful amazing way to put abundance consciousness into your being. It’s inspired by the Ananda Assisi, a centre near Assisi for the teaching of Paramahansa Yogananda.

Find a bottle, a plastic container or a lovely decorated bag or box. Every day put in an amount of money that you consider negligible, 5 cents for example. This ensures you do the exercise without fear. As you put the money in the box, close your eyes and say ‘Teach me to feel that Thou are the power behind all wealth and the value within all things. Finding thee first I will find all things in Thee. Help me to manifest material and spiritual abundance through the realisation of the Oneness of all things and the universal source of supply.

Also create a separate compartment in the abundance box. I call this my giving compartment into which I sometimes add a small amount to that saying ‘Teach me to give appropriately.’ I have an urge to give away money and this is helping me give from a sacred space not a conditioned  one.

3.   EXERCISE 3
Symbolically uplift your handling of money. This provides a critical change point in your subliminal relationship with money.People with money issues have an entangled and ambivalent relationship with money.
  1. Tidy up your purse. Scrappy credit card slips stuffed randomly into your purse show disrespect, repelling money.
  2. Whenever you give or receive money, take a moment to mindfully put it in your wallet, blessing it irrespective of how much it is.
  3. When I receive cash I put it in the centre of a nice brass tray, and then lay a rose quartz crystal on top of it. Everytime I see that crisp R100 note adorned with a beautiful crystal something in me leaps in an uplifting and positive way. I rather fancy that this is healing many years of secretly believing that money is the root of all evil.
4.    EXERCISE 4
Start doing an active blessing on your food. Since manifesting money is a heart affair, and your heart is more than likely closed to money, this practise will teach you to open your heart at will. Hold your hands over your food, close your eyes, get the picture of the plant or animal from where the food came and then bless it with all your being. Then bless the over lighting intelligence that guides that plant or animal form, giving deep thanks that this intelligence exists on the earth. Then think of the whole system of mother nature and fully appreciate the wisdom that created the earth. If I’m eating fish for example, I think about the oceans and the sun, and give thanks for them too. By this time my heart is wide open. I then gives thanks to all the people involved. If I have the luxury of eating organic, I thank that farmer for choosing to work with mother nature.  I then thank everyone involved in getting the food from the farm onto the supermarket shelves, trucks, trains, shelf packers – the lot! This process, repeated over and over unexpectedly taught me to open my heart at will, and that’s a useful skill when it comes to money!
Later in the course you will use it to attract money, but for now, don’t entangle money stuff with heart stuff. Just learn to open your heart to magnificence of food, nourishment and eating.

You now have 4 very practical ways to build a fabulous relationship with money. Including these practises in your life helps you feel divinely favoured and in tune with all of life. When that happens, all of life will suddenly expand to include the money that comes from trees, the silver and gold that come from deep earth. And then you’ll be on your way to mega money. Yay!
